This sub-sector contributes net sales revenues amounting to BGN 274 mln., of which BGN 248 mln. is the share of the top 10 companies. The reported total profit earned by all companies in this branch of industry is BGN 16 mln. (the profit of the armament company Arsenal AD is not included)
M+S Hydraulic AD is a leading manufacturer in Europe of hydraulic motors, hydrostatic servocontrols, valves, brakes and related accessories. For the first 6 months of 2008, the company reported a profit of BGN 3.5 mln., which represents 18% growth compared to the same period of the previous year. The NSR of the company for the same period was BGN 42.2 mln., i.e. 13% growth. During the past two years, M+S Hydraulic AD was among the companies with highest liquidity, whose shares were listed for sale on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange. As of the beginning of 2009, the company has 1,180 employees. The main goal of the company’s management is to overcome the risks of the global decline in market demand, which also affected the sales of the company at the end of 2008.
Leading positions in this sub-sector are also held by companies serving the needs of the Maritza East Power Complex: Remotex - Radnevo EAD (manufacture of spare parts for capital repair and maintenance of mining and transport equipment); Energoremont - Galabovo AD and Atomenergoremont EOOD (manufacture of spare parts for turbines and turbine repair).
Caproni AD is the Bulgarian leader in the manufacture of hydraulic pumps, components and systems. The company’s products are also well known on markets abroad. In 2008, Caproni AD presented its latest products at the International Exhibition Interdrive 2008 in Moscow (November 2008) and at the Hanover International Industrial Fair (April 2008).
Kalvacha Engineering AD is the biggest manufacturer of petrol and gas station equipment in South Eastern Europe, offering also design, installation and maintenance services. The equipment is successfully sold in countries on three continents – Europe, Asia and Africa. The company also reported an increase in sales in EU member states, especially in Germany. Kalvacha Engineering AD is part of Kalvacha Group. At the end of 2008, the company introduced an occupational health and safety management system in the design, development, production, installation and servicing of installations for fuels, liquefied gases and metal constructions, as well as in the design and construction of buildings and construction equipment (BS OHSAS 18001:2007).
During the past three years, Hraninvest-HMC AD, a subsidiary of Zagora Holding, has oriented its production mainly to foreign markets. The company manufactures lines and equipment for the production and bottling of soft drinks, beer, wine, alcohol drinks, etc.; machines, equipment and technology lines for processing of fruit and vegetables; machines for the dairy industry and containers for the food industry.
