Approximately 1,400 companies in the region are operating in the manufacturing industry sector. Their total Net Sales Revenues (NSR) for 2008 amount to BGN 1,612, which is a decrease of BGN 87 mln. compared to the previous year. A decrease of BGN 28 mln. is also registered in the overall profit of the sector.
40 of the companies in the sector have earned NSR exceeding BGN 40 mln each. The image of the manufacturing industry in the Stara Zagora District is determined by companies engaged in the production of food and beverages (Gradus – 1 OOD, Zagorka AD and KEN AD), companies engaged in metal processing and manufacture of machinery and equipment (M+S Hydraulic AD, Arsenal AD – Kazanlak, Metalik AD), as well as companies engaged in the repair works of Maritsa Iztok Complex (Energoremont – Galabovo, Remotex EAD – Radnevo, Atomenergoremont – Galabovo EOOD). The highest NSR in the sector are reported by the poultry meat manufacturer Gradus – 1 OOD.
The overall net profit of the companies in the sector is BGN 145 mln. The top ranked companies in terms of NSR are: Gradus – 1 OOD, Zagorka AD, Metalik AD, M+S Hydraulic AD and Videoton Bulgarian Holdings EOOD.
